Our special event entitled "Meet James Quilligan, commons theorist/activist and policy analyst" is less than two weeks away now! An event that will amplify our efforts to raise Commons Literacy for which we set up crowdfunding campaign here. The aim of this campaign is to ensure that we can operate to deliver awareness raising and capacity building opportunities like this one, in and between an expanding community of growing commoners.
I am personally very excited about this event because it presents a chance to hear and speak with a man the team and I at the School of Commoning consider a 'Remarkable Commoner'. I have had the pleasure of reading a number of James Quilligan articles and each one for me has been a journey into a true learning experience, serving to clarify and uncover many insights. This is just a snippet of the immense quality he brings to the Commons movement:
"James Quilligan has been an analyst and administrator in the field of international development since 1975. He has served as policy advisor and writer for many international politicians and leaders, including Pierre Trudeau, François Mitterrand, Edward Heath, Julius Nyerere, Lopez Portillo, Olof Palme, Willy Brandt, and Jimmy Carter. He has been an economic consultant for government agencies in 26 countries, including the United States. He has also served as an advisor for several United Nations programs and international development organizations..." See here for the extended profile
To discover the key areas in which James will present his latest thinking on the Commons - find out here!
This is not only an event exploring the cutting edge thinking on managing our local and global commons it is also an event that will pay great attention to a true leader in the Commons field, an event that marks the 2nd in our Series of Meetings with Remarkable Commoners, after the 1st in the Series with Michel Bauwens. I warmly encourage you to join us!
For accompanying materials, recommended by James himself, and a warm invite to our latest forum, open for people to start new discussions around any questions or insights that come to mind, then please click here.
