Hi Marten I’ve just joined P2P and am passionate about our species’ ability to develop it’s collaborative intelligence. If we are to turn the planet around we need the participation of just about everyone – we need a very special ‘Yahu’ (http://gettingclevertogether.com/cooperation/yahu-for-collaborative-intelligence/)
…anyway would like to have you connect to me as a friend on this network and love to make connections for others when I know enough about them to know who to introduce them to. I hope I can do that for you in the future.

Kind regards

Steve J

Well, Simuze is doing fine actually. We've been having a lot of visitors lately (while our site is still obviously in beta modus), and we've been making some good progress in developing the new version. Hopefully this year you'll be able to watch it :-) We're definitely doing some p2p stuff there, I'll let you know once we have something running. My bands are doing allright; We vs Death (www.wevsdeath.nl) toured trough Japan (!!!) last year which was great. Hopefully we'll get another chance to go back there soon. We're working on a new album which we'll probably record around june or so. I've just started a new band about half a year ago called Shuriken (www.shuriken.nl), and we've recorded our first few songs already-> will put them on the website once they're finished. Have your trips paid off sofar?

Hi Martin,

doing fine mostly, though making the foundation sustainable is a big issue; embarking on a 3 month trip of lectures tomorrow morning; here you'll find a few picture collections of thai life

what about you and your musical projects?

Hi Marten, thanks for joining! :)

Profile Information

About Me:
After finishing highschool in the Netherlands, Marten decided to live in Canada for a year as an exchange student. It was there that he got interested in computers and webdesign. Back in the Netherlands he studied Multimedia Design & Technology at Saxion College in Enschede. He graduated on a masters course in Interactive Multimedia at the HKU in Hilversum. He finished his degree with his project Simuze and a thesis about Open Content and the music industry.

After his graduation he further developed Simuze (www.simuze.nl) together with a few enthousiastic people and got funding for the project. He is also the chairman of the Open Media Foundation which supports the creativity within a wide range of media and the sharing of the knowledge thereof. As a freelance webdeveloper, Open Source and Open Content have become an important factor in Marten’s online and offline activities.

He is also active as a bassplayer with the Dutch band We vs Death. The band has already toured Belgium, France, England, Denmark, Germany , Poland, Russia, Japan and Canada and has released several albums already. Making music has always been an important part of his life. He also loves to travel, design, and program. He is a pragmatic idealist and couldn’t live without music.
