The oXcars, the greatest free culture event of all time, turns five  this year. Once
again, it will be held at Sala Apolo in Barcelona  (Carrer Nou de la Rambla, 113) on 25

(Fundación de Raperos Atípicos de Cádiz), the writer Andreu Martín and the documentary
No-Res, as well as the collaboration  of the actor Paco León, the music platform Taringa!,
Megabox,  15MpaRato, Dan Bull, Adrián Paenza,  Kopimisme, Maximiliano  Gerscovich, Pablo
Katchadjian, Horacio Potel, Piracy act name  generator and library.nu.

The FCForum will take place on 26 and 27 October (from 10am to 9pm) at  Arts Santa Mònica
in Barcelona (La Rambla, 7)

The FCForum is an international network that accompanies the oXcars -   its practical
side. It puts together and coordinates a global  framework for action and a shared agenda
for issues related to free  culture and access to knowledge. The FCForum has a strong
international presence among civil society and numerous institutions.

The  #oxcars12 and the #FCForum12 will be an opportunity to launch a  series of mechanisms
or proposals civil society proposals around the  following issues:

·       Taringa! Is a virtual community for sharing posts, with 13 million  registered users.
This website and X.net will launch the Spanish  section of Taringa! Música, in which
profits will be shared with  authors. In this way, we are defending new cultural models
against a  repressive approach to copyright.

·       To promote this vision in the context of Europe, the FCForum in  conjunction with La
Quadrature du Net, Richard Stallman (the inventor  of free software and copyleft
practices) and other platforms will  launch a Positive Agenda against  restrictive laws
such as
ACTA.

·       This Positive Agenda is a pilot mechanism that will expand to attain  global political
scope, because it is through the Internet that we  will build the democracy of the future.
To this end, various sections  of the FCForum will revolve around debates and workshops on
 Network  Democracy, freedom of information, transparency.

·       Lastly, X.net has prepared a study that aims to transform  Crowdfunding into a real
financing tool rather than a simple form of  poverty management.
